The Kayak and Hike tour takes you on an unforgettable adventure where you will experience all the charms of the bay and what it is widely known for – its Austro-Hungarian heritage.

After short instructions on the coast, the adventure will slowly get you into first rowings across the turquoise shallows of the bay. By kayaking, you will discover some of the most interesting cloves carved into the rocks that rise into the green hills.

Hills that surround the bay are still hiding monuments of one of the most exciting periods in Pula’s history. Invisible from the sea, systems of military fortifications during the Austro-Hungarian Empire brought the Štinjan Bay and Pula’s harbor title of the most fortified in Europe.

After kayaking across the bay, you will slowly set sail in the direction of Pula Harbor. With a view of the urban city infrastructure, you will sail to the completely abandoned military port. This is followed by disembarkation and easy hiking along well-trodden forest paths that lead to the discovery of completely hidden forts.

After exploring the fully buried walls of the fortification, it’s time for the adventure to continue towards even more exciting discoveries. After a short ascent comes a stop at the Monte Grosso fortress, which we can safely say offers the most beautiful view of the city and the skyline.

This exciting hiking adventure will leave you full of new impressions, but surely eager for refreshment as well. That is why, before jumping into the kayaks again, you will take a walk to the nearby bay, which will allow you to refresh yourself with a run in the water and snorkle around in the spectacular depths of the bay.

After swimming, there is a short walk back to the harbor and a relaxed kayak ride back to the meeting point.
